Soul Food is cooking for "Some One U Love. As a little girl I remember some of the wonderful meals my mother prepared. My relatives and friends enjoy telling stories about how well my mother could make Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Hot water corn bread, Potato salad, Blackeye peas, Fried okra and Fried green tomatoes. The list goes on and on. The breakfast food was just as good: grits, mackerels croquets, bacon, smoke ham, biscuits with apricot-pineapple jam, fried catfish and much, much more. Don't forget the sweet water drink (Kool-aide). My Dad, who's 91 says, "Those were the good old days'".
Well, the good old days are still here! The cooking torch was passed down to Ellen's daughters. After many request from friends and family, I've decided to start giving cooking lessons. My hope is to keep alive the traditions of homemade cooking for our families.
We live in a fast-paced world with never enough time to handle all of the pressures of life. Let's get back to the foods that comfort the soul. Food that brings family together around the table, enjoying wonderful conversation and lasting memories that will be passed down to generations to come. Cooking does not have to be complicated, or a long-drawn out event of slaving over a hot stove, (erase that picture from your mind). I will show you how to achieve the same results in less time, and you and your family will enjoy that homemade taste.
The classes we offer are: Basic 101 Cooking, Sunday Dinner Class. We also have; Special interest cooking classes; Healthy Cooking, Children Cooking Class, Couples Cooking, Cooking for One and Personal Chef. See our class description schedule for more information.
Remember, It's never too late to enhance your cooking skills when you're cooking with Ellen's Daughter.
